Luminescent blinking of gold nanoparticles
نویسندگان
چکیده
Spin-coated gold colloids showed a time-dependent increase in emission upon illumination at 532 nm. The emission originated from point-like locations and displayed blinking. The emission spectra of the individual spots and their spatial location remained constant, which is distinct from recent reports on silver nanoparticles. These results suggest the use of emission from gold clusters in nanophotonics devices and as luminescent probes with potential applications in medical imaging. 2003 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Influence of surface plasmon resonance on the emission intermittency of photoluminescence from gold nano-sea-urchins.
The effect of surface plasmon resonance (SPR) on the blinking emission of photoluminescence from noble metal nanostructures still requires further investigation in quantum mechanics and limits their applications. We investigate one photon luminescent emission intermittency of noble metal nanostructures with differently sized sea-urchin-shaped nanoparticles, known as nano-sea-urchins (NSUs). The...
متن کاملLuminescent, water-soluble gold nanoparticles functionalised with 3MLCT emitting rhenium complexes.
Rhenium complexes functionalised with thioester-terminated alkyl chains can be attached to gold nanoparticles to yield water-soluble, visibly luminescent Re-GNP hybrid conjugates.
متن کاملFluorescently Labeled Gold Nanoparticles with Minimal Fluorescence Quenching
Minimal quenching of fluorescence emission was observed when the fluorescent dye AlexaFluor 514 (AF514) was covalently bound to gold monolayer protected clusters (AuMPCs) that have negligible plasmon bands (diameters <2 nm). The fluorescence emission of the conjugated dye was measured as a function of dye-AuMPC mixing ratio with a combination of steady-state and time-resolved ensemble spectrosc...
متن کاملReversible Aptamer-Au Plasmon Rulers for Secreted Single Molecules.
Plasmon rulers, consisting of pairs of gold nanoparticles, allow single-molecule analysis without photobleaching or blinking; however, current plasmon rulers are irreversible, restricting detection to only single events. Here, we present a reversible plasmon ruler, comprised of coupled gold nanoparticles linked by a single aptamer, capable of binding individual secreted molecules with high spec...
متن کاملPlanar gold nanoparticle clusters as microscale mirrors.
Dispersible microscale mirror particles were synthesized by linkage of citrate-coated gold nanoparticles and 3-aminopropylsilyl-modified Ca2Nb3O10 perovskite nanoplates. The mirror particles reflect 14-19% of light in the 500-800 nm wavelength interval with retention of polarization. Due to their directional reflection properties, laser-irradiated micromirror dispersions in solvents exhibit Bro...
